Oct 22, 2007 11:17 PM Lawrence and I were supposed to study yesterday but while we're about to start studying some familiar noises caught my attention. It sound as though someone was either kicking or punching something hard. I saw quite a number of people from where the noises were from and they were watching something in amazement. They were watching a guy in red and black sparring in the ring. A fighting competition! I was so bloody excited about it so I dragged Lawrence along with me to joined the crowd.
There were 2 different teams competing with one another. The red and the black. Most of the competitors seems to have their muscles well build. I believed they're either NS guys or they've completed their NS. Lawrence and I thought its Muay Thai competition but I was kind of puzzled when they did not use their elbows and knees. As using knees and elbows should be quite common in muay thai. And to my surprise they somehow use techniques that were quite similar as judo to toss their opponents off the ground. I told Lawrence that I'm somehow disappointed as I think that the fight lack of some excitement as elbows and knees are not included. I think Lawrence was quite shocked and disgusted at how brutal I am. Come to think of it I'm indeed getting more and more violent nowadays. Though elbows and knees were not included but there were still some injuries inflicted on the fighters. 2 of the fighters got their nose injured while 1 of the fighters got kick on his groin. Poor guy. Anyway after much investigation, I found out that its not a Muay Thai competition instead its San Shou. San Shou do not use knees and elbows instead it uses quite a large variety of other mix martial arts including judo. I still prefer Muay Thai as I think the impact thats inflicted on its opponent is greater than san shou. I really hope one day I could fight like those fighters with friends cheering for me outside the ring. Really hope that one if this days would really come. |
