Oct 20, 2007 11:29 PM Slept at about 4 am this morning as I was too engross in my computer games. So I guess time flies when you're enjoying and before I knew it, its already 4 in the morning. After 2 hours of rest I force myself out of bed as I'm meeting my team mates at 7am. I shouldn't have woke up so early as I was the first to reach. instead I should have given myself an extra 20 minutes of rest. It was 7.45 when our last member arrived. We bought ourselves some food as we guys believed that breakfast is quite an important meal and we can't possibly fight in an empty stomach. After we guys have finished our breakfast we took bus 161 to woodland.
To our surprise we were not late instead we're two minutes earlier. As it was raining before we came the floor was wet. We guys went to borrow some newspaper from the nearby HDB flats. We spent about 30 to 45 minutes drying the floor and doing some stretching and as well as warm up. We've got 9 players present including me while the opponents have around 12 to 15! Our 9 players consist of Jun Long, Jun Ming, Chit Wei, Terence, Jia Wei, Irvin, Pak Chong, Yu Fu and last but not least me. I was chosen to play for the first quarter with Terence, Jia Wei, Irvin and last but not least Jun Ming. It was supposed to be Chit wei who should be playing instead of Jun Ming but Chit wei don't really know about the 3 seconds rule so he decided to observe for the first quarter. At the beginning of the match I was kind of too nervous and I lost many opportunities to score and I somehow cause my team to be in a difficult position. The first quarter started for about 2 minutes and the score's 7 to 0! My players and I were all demoralize by the score but somehow after the first 3 pointer from Irvin we guys began to pick ourselves up and play better. When the first quarter ended we guys were shocked that we were leading my 2 points 15 to 13 and I scored 9 points out of the 15 points. Everyone was calling me the top scorer."14 number 14" could be heard outside the court! I've never ever score more than 6 points in all my matches but now I scored 9 points in a quarter?! My team mates and I were also shocked by my performance. I've never felt like this before its as if everyone has their eyes stick onto me. At the second quarter I was being guarded closely by the opponents. I somehow think they regard me as a threat to them. So I tried luring their attention and act as a deflection giving my team mates more opportunity to score. Chit wei was the top scorer for the 2nd quarter as Terence and I kept assisting him. Terence was guarded closely by the opponents too as the previous match we had against them gave them a terrifying experience of him. We somehow felt that during the match we guys fought hard like we were fighting desperately for our lives in a war. Its so lame. After the 2nd quarter have ended we guys manage to get ourselves a 2 digit lead. Anyway at the end of the match we guys won the match by 14 points! The score was 64 to 50. Ever since we were leading we never gave them any chance to lead again. The top scorer of the match is chit wei who scored 19 points. Terence and I scored 15 points each. Irvin scored 6 while Jia wei scored 5. Yu fu and Jun Long managed to get themselves 2 points each. The reason Chit wei, Terence and I managed to score quite a number of points is because we played like a team and assisted each other. This is the best match I've played so far and I'm pleased with my performance. Though I'm pleased with my performance but I'll not be satisfied. I'll train harder to become a better player. I can see some of the result of my hard work now. We guys are also beginning to work as a team and bond together after all we've been through!!! BAO FENG ROX!!! All for one and one for all! |
